Russian citizens enjoy hassle-free access to many of Africa’s most popular destinations. No advance visa is required for South Africa, Seychelles, or Mauritius — all allow visa-free stays of up to 90 days with a valid passport and return ticket. For Tanzania, a visa on arrival is available, though applying for an eVisa online before departure is recommended to save time. Kenya is the only exception, requiring Russians to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) online before flying, which permits a single-entry stay of up to 90 days. Always verify current entry requirements with the relevant embassy before travel, as policies can change..
All destinations on our itineraries are well-established and widely visited by international travellers. The national parks and reserves are remote, pristine environments where your primary companions are wildlife rather than crowds. Cape Town is a cosmopolitan city that rewards awareness, as with any major urban destination. Our guides, lodge partners, and transfer operators are carefully vetted, and your safety and comfort are our highest priority at every stage of your journey.
Southern and East Africa offer remarkable experiences year-round, but timing can significantly enhance specific experiences. For the Great Migration river crossings in the Maasai Mara and Serengeti, July to October is optimal. For Kruger National Park, the dry winter months of May to September offer the best game viewing as vegetation thins and animals gather around water sources. The Cape Town and Winelands are best enjoyed from November to March during the South African summer. We tailor your itinerary to align with the best seasonal conditions for each destination.
Each of Africa’s great safari destinations has a distinct character and appeal:
- Kruger National Park, South Africa — Africa’s most accessible and diverse Big Five reserve. Excellent year-round game viewing, well-developed infrastructure, and a wide range of accommodation from luxury lodges to private concessions. Ideal for first-time safari travellers.
- Maasai Mara, Kenya — The ultimate Great Migration destination, with dramatic Mara River crossings from July to October. Open, rolling savanna and outstanding predator sightings make this one of the most cinematic safari experiences on earth.
- Serengeti, Tanzania — The Mara’s vast southern neighbour and the stage for the full Great Migration cycle. Wider, more remote, and arguably more dramatic in scale than the Mara. Pairs beautifully with a Zanzibar beach finale.
- Okavango Delta, Botswana — Africa’s most exclusive and unique safari experience. A vast inland river delta that floods seasonally, creating a remarkable water-based wilderness explored by mokoro canoe and small boat. Exceptionally pristine, ultra-low-volume tourism, and among the most expensive destinations on the continent.
- Etosha National Park, Namibia — A completely different safari aesthetic — a vast salt pan surrounded by semi-arid savanna. Exceptional for large elephant herds, black rhino, and rare desert-adapted species. Pairs naturally with Sossusvlei and the Namibian landscape.
For travellers seeking the classic Big Five experience, Kruger is the natural starting point. For those drawn to the Migration, Serengeti and Maasai Mara are unrivalled. For the ultimate in exclusivity and wilderness, Okavango stands alone.
English is the primary language of tourism across all destinations on our itineraries, and all our guides, lodge staff, and transfer operators are fluent English speakers. While Russian is not widely spoken in Southern or East Africa, your experience will be seamlessly managed by our team who speak Russian from arrival to departure. Furthermore we work with several Russian-speaking guides who can accompany you on your travel
Our tours are designed to be accessible and comfortable for travellers of all fitness levels. Game drives are conducted from specialist safari vehicles and require no physical exertion. Optional activities such as dune climbing in Sossusvlei, hiking Lion’s Head in Cape Town, or walking safaris in Kruger do require a moderate level of fitness, but these are always optional and can be tailored to your preference. We recommend consulting your physician before travel if you have any specific health considerations, and we are happy to adapt any itinerary to suit individual needs.
